The 2010 SSAT Postgraduate Course ,“Multidisciplinary Management of Gastrointestinal Disease,” will be held on Sunday, May 2, 2010, during the 51st Annual Meeting and in conjunction with Digestive Disease Week. GI medicine and GI surgery have traditionally occupied mutually respected silos; however, the science of GI disease and rapid advances in technology will soon make these silos obsolete. The SSAT Postgraduate Course is structured to explore GI diseases that have traditionally been treated independently by surgeons or gastroenterologists. This course will focus on the multidisciplinary nature of modern treatment and explore the evidence that supports these therapies. The format will be a mix of didactic sessions, video sessions, debates, and a GI morbidity and mortality conference. All participants should leave with an enhanced understanding of both the current state-of-the-art and where we are going as GI physicians. Supplement your Annual Meeting registration by signing up for the 2010 Postgraduate Course, for which SSAT members receive preferred rates; you may also register for just the SSAT Postgraduate Course.

Accreditation
These activities are being planned and implemented in accordance with the Essential Areas and Policies of the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education. AMA PRA Category 1 CreditsTM, commensurate with the extent of participation in the activity, will be provided.
